Lafourche Parish Jail Roster Overview
The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office runs the local corrections system and links the official Zuercher inmate roster from its corrections pages. LPSO labels the tool "Who's In Jail" and "Inmate Roster." It was free and public during inspection, with no login required for a basic custody search. The roster is the best first stop for the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, which LPSO identifies as the current parish jail for intake, pretrial detainees, and sentenced inmates.
The jail roster does not answer every inmate-record question. It is a current custody tool. It does not replace the Lafourche Clerk's formal court record, the District Attorney's charging decision, the Louisiana DPS&C offender route for sentenced state custody, the BOP locator for federal prison, or ICE ODLS for immigration detention. When a person is not listed, check spelling and dates, then call LPCC at (985) 449-4458 or use the public-records route for an older booking record.
Use the Lafourche Parish Inmate Roster
The roster search is narrow enough that a name search should come first. Race, sex, and arrest date filters are best used to reduce a long result set or confirm a person with a common name. The public table can page through results, and the current roster query inspected on June 16, 2026 returned 759 records. That count is live roster context, not an audited population report.
- Open the LPSO inmate roster and enter a full or partial name.
- Add race, sex, or arrest date only when the name returns too many matches.
- Use DOB, race, sex, cell block, and arrest date to confirm the correct person.
- Read the hold-reasons section for charges, bonds, court division text, detainers, additional holds, and sentence notes.
- If the person is not listed, call LPCC, check LA VINE or VINELink, and search DOC, BOP, or ICE if the custody type points outside parish jail.
The official roster screen in the captured image shows the public search path and result layout. Names and holds can change quickly, so the portal itself controls any current release or custody decision.
The image is useful for recognizing the search tool, while the live roster should be checked before posting bond, scheduling a visit, or traveling to the jail.
Lafourche Parish Roster Search Fields
The roster configuration inspected for the research exposed public filters, dropdowns, and result columns. The active columns were Name, Race, Sex, DOB, Cell Block, and Arrest Date. The template and API also contained held-for-agency and release-date fields, but those were not active public columns in the inspected page configuration. This distinction matters because the public screen may show less than the underlying jail-management system stores.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name | Text | No | Free-text field; use full or partial spelling. |
| Race | Dropdown | No | Includes All plus listed race categories such as White, Black or African American, Asian, Unknown, and others. |
| Sex | Dropdown | No | Includes All, Female, Male, Not Specified, and Unknown. |
| In Custody On | Date | No | Defaulted to current date in controller and appeared read-only in the inspected configuration. |
| Arrest Date | Date | No | Use when a booking or arrest date is known. |
| Search / Reset | Button | n/a | Search runs the query; Reset clears filters to defaults. |
Lafourche Parish Inmate Profile Fields
A Lafourche Parish inmate profile combines identity fields and custody fields. The most important line is often not the top row but the hold-reasons detail below it. That block can list multiple charges or holds, bond text, "No Bond" values, court division language, probation or parole detainers, additional holds, or sentence-imposed wording. Treat that material as a custody snapshot. The court record after a Lafourche Parish jail arrest is maintained through the Clerk and court systems after formal filing.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Last, first, middle, or suffix format used by the jail system. |
| Race / Sex / DOB | Confirmation fields for matching the correct person. |
| Cell Block | Current housing, pod, dorm, or program code. |
| Arrest Date | Date tied to the current custody row or hold. |
| Hold Reasons | Charge text, statute references, bond, court division, detainers, additional holds, or sentence notes. |
| Mugshot | Template field exists, but public photos were blank under the Act 494 roster notice. |
| Release Date | Exists in the template/API but was blank in current-custody sample records. |
Find County State and Federal Inmates
Custody type controls where to search. A new arrest by LPSO, Thibodaux Police, Lockport Police, Golden Meadow Police, Port Fourchon Harbor Police, Louisiana State Police, or another local agency should normally start with LPCC and the LPSO roster. A sentenced state case may move to Louisiana DPS&C custody or supervision. A federal sentenced person belongs in the BOP locator. Immigration detention belongs in ICE ODLS, even if an older local roster label says INS or immigration.
| Custody | Where to Look | Use When |
|---|---|---|
| Pretrial or short local sentence | LPSO inmate roster | Recent arrest, current LPCC housing, local bond, parish hold |
| Sentenced state custody | Louisiana DPS&C offender information | Hard-labor sentence, DOC transfer, DOC supervision, TWP custody |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP inmate locator | Federal prison or post-1982 BOP record |
| Immigration custody | ICE ODLS | ICE detention or immigration custody search |
| Notification and status | VINELink Louisiana | Custody notification and victim-notification route |
Lafourche Parish Jail Facilities
LPSO's corrections pages identify two active local correctional facilities. The Correctional Complex in Thibodaux is the regular parish jail and the main facility for current custody. The Transitional Work Program in Raceland is a work-release and reentry program under a state agreement. Older records or the state DOC Lafourche page may still refer to a "Lafourche Parish Detention Center," but LPSO says the old detention center closed when LPCC began operations in January 2019.

Booking Process in Lafourche Parish
Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure art. 228 requires a person arrested by a peace officer, or held in custody after arrest, to be taken promptly to the nearest jail or police station and booked. The booking entry must show name and address, property taken, date and time of booking, and a booking information summary. The booking book and booking summaries are open for public inspection. In Lafourche Parish, practical intake at LPCC can include property inventory, identity entry, fingerprint and photo processing internally, medical or mental-health screening, classification, cell-block assignment, bond handling, and roster publication.
LPSO does not post an exact roster refresh rate on the inspected roster page. LA VINE materials describe Louisiana roster data as live roster data updated every 30 minutes from jail-management systems, but that should be used as LA VINE context rather than a promise about the LPSO Zuercher page. If release, bond, or travel depends on the answer, call LPCC before acting.
Lafourche Parish Visitation Rules
LPCC visitation uses video visitation through ICSolutions. LPSO says to contact LPCC for visiting hours and days. The key public rules are strict: an inmate is limited to one 15-minute visit; up to two visitors must meet together; the visitor must be on the inmate's approved list; valid ID is required; visitors must be at least 17 unless properly approved; children are not allowed during normal visitation unless the Warden or designee authorizes it.
The LPSO visitation guidelines also cover mail and money rules. Packages are not allowed. Money orders and correspondence may be mailed, but cash cannot be mailed. Former inmates must wait 120 days after release before visiting. Dress-code rules ban short skirts or shorts, sleeveless shirts or blouses, tank tops, low-cut blouses, pants below the waist, and see-through clothing.
| Rule | LPCC Detail |
|---|---|
| Visit type | Video visitation through ICSolutions |
| Visit length | One 15-minute visit per inmate |
| Visitor list | Visitor name must appear on the inmate's list |
| ID | Valid identification required for all visitors |
| Age / children | Visitors must be at least 17 or properly approved; child visits need approval |
Contact and Records Requests
For immediate custody confirmation, call LPCC at (985) 449-4458 or LPSO at (985) 448-2111. For local background checks, the Records Section number in the research is (985) 449-4428. For records not visible online, LPSO's Civil Department directs public-records requests to Chief Deputy Roy Gros, Custodian of Records, P.O. Box 5608, Thibodaux, LA 70302, roy-gros@lpso.net. The request form asks for specific details, so include names, dates of birth, case numbers, incident dates, date ranges, and the record sought.
The LPSO public-records page is the fallback for booking records, jail records, mugshot-policy questions, incident reports, and records not shown in the roster. Lawful copy fees may apply under Louisiana law, but the research did not locate a specific LPSO jail-record fee schedule on the inspected Civil page or PDF snippet.
Lafourche Parish Commissary and Funds
The Tiger Commissary Lafourche page supports web deposits and commissary ordering for Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. LPSO also says visitors can bring cash or a money order for an inmate, and money orders may be mailed. Because housing, release, and holds can change, confirm custody before sending funds or ordering items.
Note: A paid bond or deposit does not clear a DOC, probation, parole, federal, immigration, or other no-bond hold.
